The stars of edition 28

It's time to present the stars of quickly approaching 28th edition of Rawa Blues Festival. This year on the first Saturday evening of October, in Katowice Spodek hall the following artist stars will perform: Debbie Davies, Seth Walker and Samuel James and also Polish exceptional star - Shakin' Dudi.

Debbie Davies

Davies’ rise to the upper echelon of blues music started at an early age as she absorbed the music heard constantly in her home - her parents were (professional) musicians. Growing up in Los Angeles in the 1960’s, she went against the grains of society’s accepted roles of the time. She didn’t accept that being a female guitar player meant only one thing: acoustic guitar. It was enough to hear the sounds of the British blues-rock bands, particularly the electric guitar of Eric Clapton with John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers.

Seth Walker

Seth Walker is a different point of blue in American music. His songwriting draws from the entire spectrum of the roots canon and infuses it with a wellspring of authentic Southern soul. It would feel just right hearing Walker between Ollabelle on one side and Derek Trucks on the other. Based out of Austin, Texas, he's become a shining light on a local scene where only the real thing stands a chance to thrive.

Samuel James

Samuel James is a performer of stunningly singular talent. A master of fingerstyle, slide, banjo, harmonica, and piano, this phenom is not yet out of his twenties. With musical influences ranging from Skip James and Sonny Terry to Gus Cannon and Charley Patton, such understanding of pre-war blues is rarely embodied in the music of one person.

Shakin' Dudi

Shakin Dudi comes back in a great style, with this year released new album entitled „Zlota plyta-continued“. New compositions even more refers to the American classics of the 50s. More of blues, swing and stylish playing. On this year Rawa Blues Festival we will hear the songs both from the new album and also those older ones. They have one in common - modest, living playing and amazing, energetic show.
